I usually do not comment, however after looking at a lot of responses on Disable Shutdown Event Tracker
Convert your Windows Server 2012 to a Workstation!. I do have 2 questions for you
if you tend not to mind. Could it be simply me or does it look like a few of the comments
appear as if they are coming from brain dead people? 😛 And, if you
are writing at additional sites, I would like to keep
up with anything fresh you have to post. Would you post a list of the complete
urls of all your social sites like your Facebook page,
twitter feed, or linkedin profile?

On some Windows Server installations, you might have to install Group Policy Management from Roles and Features in the Server Manager console if the above mentioned tool (i.e. gpedit.msc) is not found. In almost all cases, gpedit.msc has always been there and ready, but this is just for anyone who can’t find it… 🙂 Also, great article!
If you get board of switching from your user account to your administrator account to turn off the computer gracefully, you can also change this Group Policy setting:
Run Local Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) as Administrator.
Navigate to:
– Computer Configuration
– Windows Settings
– Security Settings
– User Rights Assignment
View the ‘Shut down the system’ setting’.
Click ‘Add User or Group…’.
Add the Users group.

Click ‘Advanced…’.
Click ‘Find Now’.
Select Users in the search results.
Click OK.

Click OK.
Close the Local Group Policy Editor.
Hi. My server 2012 Std. does not seem to find gpedit.msc
That’s weird. Check if you can find the ‘gpedit.msc’ file in %SystemRoot%System32. By my knowledge this file is present in every edition of Windows (Server), even if you due to license restrictions are not allowed to use it. Otherwise, copy it from Windows 8 or another Windows Server 2012 installation.
I don’t see the shutdown policy there. Server 2012 Standard RTM.
